What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and a special mention to all those who have lost loved ones.

A 5.8 for me this morning.

Today is my music lesson 3/4 hour of cruelty inflicted on my music teacher, wrong notes, wrong tempo, wrong key and that's the starters. I love it hehehehe
Has a good day folks I'm aiming to.
As Eric Morecambe once said, " I play all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order!":D

good morning all :)

4.5 this morning.

Too much protein and too much stress yesterday whilst we were out.

@ianpspurs happy birthday wishes (sorry they're late)
@geefull The birthday wishes are just as kind even when late. I just love how an fbg of 4.5 needs to be explained as though it was/were the black sheep of the family;) (apparently I am able to use was or were but take your pick)

Not a fasting level post but a related topic due to my periods of fasting and the effect on fbg. Blood tests yesterday are starting to come in and I just went through cholesterol numbers. All are in normal to good range but have in some cases become a little worse. I thought I had read somewhere of a link between fasting for 3 or more days and cholesterol. Google found me a research article linking the fasting and IF to higher LDL and Triglyceride levels which is indeed what my numbers show. Food (or lack of) for thought :(:( First amber warning light on my dashboard. Benefits and side effects of IF and fasting need more research before a decision is made but they may be abandoned sharpish. As someone else said this is all like whack-a-mole :banghead:

This was a concern of mine too. I eat a keto diet (<20g) and fast for a minimum of 16 hours every day - sometimes up to 18 or 23 hours. I don't do longer fasts because I'm on warfarin and I'd screw up my INR if I fasted for longer - and I think this strategy might be helping me. In the main the fat I eat comes with the protein I eat, i.e. the naturally occurring fat in oily fish, meat, eggs and cheese - and avocado. I don't drink bullet proof coffee or consume fat bombs; I want my body to be fuelled by my own body fat, not dietary fat. Fung believes that fasting is the way to reduce cholesterol and I believe in Fung :) I'll wait to my next profile to see..
