What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

A 5.6 at 0600.
We have the the twins, chaos and mayhem staying with us for a few days together with their big sister (age 4), Little Miss Pamplemousse. She has a shop set up already this morning and is selling us all our things - bargain.

good morning all :)

4.6 today

our weather is still fairly mild which is good for me :)

mr gee was feeling a bit better yesterday afternoon so he tried eating something other than rice pudd, suffice it to say it did not end well :(

I'm just glad I haven't caught this bug, which seems to be a gastric flu type thing, well, not yet anyway ;)

Since we were at home yesterday I tried making a carrot cake version of LC sponge, it turned out pretty good although it needs a bit more sweetener next time I think.

Additions to the basic mix were some medium grated carrot and a decent amount of mixed spice, plus some ground toasted hazelnuts (which was what I happened to have). Tried it filled with sweetened cream cheese, which worked pretty well :) should also be ok with sweetened cream or buttercream.

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

Sounds like a perfect day and very good for wellness/wellbeing and generally living properly - enjoy the moment(s):)

5.5 on my libre this morning. I'm loving it. I have another ordered from Asda at £35 but can't keep this up as it's just way too expensive! Sensor only lasts for 14 days. It's just so instant. And I can test as many times as I want. I'm off to Dublin later in the week to visit family and that will be very interesting. Last time I had the Irish breakfast I succumbed to a slice of white batch bread (to please my auntie was my excuse). My BS after 2 hours was a magnificent 13! Highest reading since I started testing Dec 18. There was black pudding involved and sausage. That won't have helped!

Happy Monday everyone.

I wouldn't advise it personally but that's just my opinion. An opinion that would be shared by many others here I think.

I'm with you @JohnEGreen (liking the avatar, btw..nice to 'meet' you :D )

And in the vein of Alternatives etc.
I smell Cow Dung...Low-carb version of the original..;)

Any sentence like that from a doctor Should imho carry a sentence.
(and at the minimum heavy censure and disciplinary action )

Morning...an exciting start to my week this Monday...waiting for the meter man to come & install the 'smart' meters (between 8-12)...afterwards I get to try the new hoover...can life get anymore exciting:D...I doubt it...coffee and a 5.7 today.
Silly me expecting things to go smoothly...previously been told a smart meter couldn't be fitted since the current meter was in a awkward position...the last British Gas man who serviced the boiler said 'no that's nonsense all they need do is change the wires' so he booked the appointment...meter man arrives & lo & behold they can't fit the meter...it's in an awkward position...furious cancelled the GP's telephone appointment because the electricity would be off & the phones wouldn't be working...told work not available...cleared out the blasted cupboard...spitting feathers here:mad::mad::mad:.

5.6 today, friend with type 2 claims his doc said he should run at '12' min, surely cant be right

Correct @coffeecat..total cow poo
(see prev post )

Though i do think, it's THAT kind of thinking and advice that has seen so many previous generations descend into the further depth of diabetes as THE progressive illness so many doctors seem to medicate and prescribe for..
And THAT ain't happening to US, without a Helluva fight.

Great score for you. though
And welcome to the bestest part of the forum.:)

Interesting read here, for you or your friend.
Don't show doctor, they probably won't understand it....;)

Poor observations there, @Bubbsie
Sucker punched, sadly

Failed to read the label on 'LIFE'.

No job that LOOKS easy or some Bozo SAY'S is easy.
EVER is.

There is NO such thing as a "5 Minute Job to fix "..Period.

Keep and use as a BS repellent for next time.

A Friend.

Warm hug, for the frustration..feel your pain.
remember to spit and NOT swallow any of those feathers..:wideyed:

@Bubbsie I can feel your frustration...unreliable workmen whether its bad advice or not showing up etc is no joke. My roof is 4/5th mended now after starting the job before Christmas...he comes for an hour or two at a time...then disappears for weeks. Because it is mid job I am unable to get another roofer. Aaaaaargh!

Frustrating is an under statement jjaark...this was British Gas so I expected some solid advice...silly me I shouldn't have...not really British Gas anymore...I believe it's owned by Centrica...perhaps I should say *****...on a positive note told him I had been sent an estimated bill for almost £500...he read the meter now the bill has been revised to £240...funny that eh?

PM I had a glut of that when I first got here..workmen.failing to turn up...rubbish work...of course everyone says sack them...get someone else but as you say it's not feasible when they're mid job...fingers crossed they press and finishes that blasted roof sooner rather than later.

..and todays weather is a balmy 6.2 Here in the costa del sol of the UK
(late dinner.. delicious, ate a tad too much AND had a double cream and blackberries for pudding, so not unexpected AND yet somehow managed to shift yet another STUBBORN lb. off my weight..:D.)

Sadly too many muppets in amongst the good uns...
and a little point scoring, me thinks...cue sucking on teeth and '"what cowboy did this " scenario.
which always seems to add to the bill/hassle without being the 'visitors' fault.

btw, was hoping to make you smile, (but was a bit flippant,)

just such a waste for us T2d to simply rage on some idiot happenings,
( though god knows i struggle to keep the 'EVIL' thoughts at bay at times like that.

Hope the day/s get better.
