Spicy Applesauce-Raisin Bread

Method

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees
  • Grease bottom only of loaf pan, 9 by 5 by 3 inches
  • Crush cereal if desired
  • (Place cereal in plastic bag or between sheets of waxed paper; crush with rolling pin
  • Or crush in blender or food processor.) Stir together all ingredients except raisins in large bowl; beat 30 seconds using spoon or mixer
  • Stir in raisins
  • Pour into pan
  • Bake 55 to 65 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
  • Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan
  • Cool completely before slicing.

  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

  • 3/4 tsp apple pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup raisins
