Spicy Hot Black Beans

Spicy Hot Black Beans

Method

  • Soak black beans in water overnight
  • Drain beans
  • Place in a large skillet along with fresh spring water
  • Bring to a boil
  • Reduce heat and add garlic and parsley cover and simmer 1-1/2 hours
  • Check the water level occasionally adding more as needed
  • When beans are tender uncover and add spices
  • Cook uncovered until water has evaporated and the beans reach the desired consistency.

  • 1 tsp Bottled garlic
  • 2 tsp Fresh parsley minced

  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper or to taste
