What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

No record breaking temperatures today but not quite back to base layers. Cool enough for some hoeing. On with the motley. B=6 pints tea some decaf. NE2 was egg (3) salad with mayo. NE2 was cheese (100 gms ) salad - forgot the avocado until half eaten - major disruption to my life - no idea what I want to eat to replace it. Hope y'all enjoyed your day or showed the bulldog spirit in the face of adversity. Oh, snow must have melted as Amazon managed to get my electrolyte tablets to me today. Keep calm and eat salad.

You had a lucky escape Annb! Do you think one of those Libre monitors might help you for a while? Perhaps one might help you to know more exactly how food and insulin affects you.
I actually know nothing at all about Libre monitors. Anything that would help me know what the situation is would be good. Perhaps I should ask my diabetic nurse about it. Still waiting for results of c-peptide test but I don't know if it will be helpful. I thought that was what the Dr wanted to talk to me about today, but it was just anaemia after all.
Just had my lamb chops and salad - really enjoyed it.

Eggs and cheese thrown in microwave...

Cheese and savoury filling and lettuce

Pork scratchings

Whipped some cream put some coffee in (I have no cocoa) and put raspberries on top (delicious)

Much cooler today so managed to walk cooper dog a few times - he was so much bouncier again today! In fact he has been busy and active all day - very purposeful seems to be making up for his day of rest in the heat! Only a couple more days with him before he moves on to son’s partners parents for a stay!
Breakfast half slice Hilo toast, chiplolata sausage, bacon and egg( one of each)
Lunch almonds, celery and cheese and a few squares of 100% choc
Dinner salmon in lemon butter with asparagus followed by sf jelly with spoon of yoghurt and cream.
 
Wow. A heartfelt thanks. It's something I've missed since leaving Australia. My family cook it every week back home by simmering corned brisket, corned silverside or eye of silverside, (which I've found to buy here.)

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: gouda and chorizo rollitos with leafy salad and two cherry tomatoes followed by Greek yoghurt and strawberries.
Mid afternoon: coconut chia pudding and black coffee.
Dinner: cold sweet chilli chicken with cauliflower and broccoli salad, pork scratchings and coleslaw followed by Carb Killa fudge brownie with cream and LC chocolate granola.
 
Too hot to skeep, ofc being awake much lster than usual leads to night Night time eating, had two bowls of nut granola.
Slept late as a result.
Breakfast: two eggs omelette, two cups of tea.
Lunch bought layered prawn salad from M&S disappointed to discover it contained pasta (major label reading fail) but picked it all out.
Pre dinner prossecco Had discussion with Mum about immediate physical effect on me of overindulging in carbs
Dinner i said no potatoes, so asparagus wrapped in ham, fillet steak with onions peppers cauli cheese, sweetcorn and courgettes, Best meal so far at parents. Dessert fresh strawberries and double cream, I know there is tiramisu in the fridge, but Mum has given up trying to make me eat it. Several more glasses of prossecco. Side effect of losing weight, tolerance for alcohol goes down, and have now lost over two stone. Wasn't any spare to lose really.
Tomorrow up early, travelling to visit Son1.

@shelley262 I did refill my one litre water bottle 3 times yesterday. And had loads cups tea in the evening. And bought two half litres water while I was out because I had drunk nearly all my litre water bottle.

I put a pinch of salt and a pinch of glucose in my water bottle because plain water makes me thirstier.

So had plenty fluids yesterday!

I hadn’t thought of putting coffee in whipped cream, great idea. Did you use instant or a shot of espresso type?
 
Can anyone tell me why it’s called ‘corned’ beef? I’ve always wondered. Your homemade one looks great @Tipetoo
CWC for me this morning, then dropped Dennis off for his first puppy groom and had over an hour to wait so popped into Costa for another CWC. Really enjoyed reading a book in peace.
Lunch was a tuna melt muffin, a few flaxseed crackers topped with cream cheese and smoked salmon then 20g 100% chocolate.
Dinner: Rainbow trout with lemon butter and broccoli. A Babybell, handful of pecans and glass of gin and raspberry Dash water while I was cooking it.
Waiting now for middle daughter&partner to arrive from London. They didn’t set off til 6pm so I think it’ll be a long evening. All 3 daughters are doing a 5k ‘inflatable’ run tomorrow - there are 15 inflatable obstacles along the course of the run - climbing walls and what have you. I think they are all regretting it now but it’s too late to back out. I’m going along to cheer them on.
