So saw the nurse today and was given a list of drugs to be added to my metformin to help lower the HbA1c as on diagnosis in Dec 2017 was 81 and now is 63.

Been lurking on here for a month since my diagnosis with Type 2 early March. thought it was time to sign up!
First HBA1c was 80 which I pretty much didn't have a clue about until I got home & realised the seriousness of it.
Only had 2 appointments so far, initial diagnosis and the foot...

Is there a direct relationship between the fasting blood glucose levels with your HBA1C?
For example, if a fasting blood glucose level reads between 5-6 mmols/l, does it also mean a lower HBA1C?
So I thought I would share my last set of libre results. I have never had a hba1c below 7. But with the help of the libre I am on track for drastic improvement. In 25 years of having diabetes and average hba1c results of 7-8% I can finally see where the problems were. Not only that but the...
On the 6th of January 2018 I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic. My HbA1c was 60. In the last 12 weeks I have been on a low calorie/carb diet. My 29th of March blood test showed my HbA1c was 38. Am I still diabetic? I'm new to this. Not sure what to think.
Hi everyone,
my boyfriend has diabetes type 1 since he was 16y old.
Now he is 28 and in the last few years he had a Hba1c between 8.0 and 8.9%.
Now we live together and I am trying to cook healty for him (low carb and full grain). I also recently stopped drinking alchool, so that he also have...
Hi all. Trying to tap into the collective brain of this forum.
Since being diabetic I have been trying to research how HBA1C works and I can find two types of papers on it - one of which talks very high level - it is an average of your blood glucose over 12 weeks by measuring glucose signatures...
Hello,
I have been voraciously reading this site for the last sixty days and learned so much, so thank you. I was stunned but realize I must have had this for roughly two years in retrospect, based on symptoms. I feel so stupid.
Sixty days ago I was advised I had diabetes with an HBa1c of...
Just had a visit with my NHS Dietitian.
Whilst congratulating me for going into "remission" and lowering my HBA1c from 85 to 38 in just over 4 months, he did not like the fact that I changed my diet to an extremely low-carb and very healthy diet.
He said my fasting blood glucose readings...
So as you might know or see from my signature I was diagnosed about 10months ago with a HBA1c of 95. No symptoms that I was aware of or recognised. After some good work with LCHF diet I got my HBA1C down to 44 in 8 weeks - boy was I strict. But then over the following weeks my numbers came up...
Just received my latest HbA1c results and at last, after 18 months on the LCHF diet I am in the normal range with 5.8! Thrilled! And have to say surprised also as I have not been exercising as much as I wanted to because I was looking after daughter who had injured her back. Lots of stress...
Just arrived back from the hospital and here is the results of my latest HBA1C:
A fantastic “38 mmols/mol” down from 46 last Dec 2017 and 85 on diagnosis last Sept 2017.
The Consultant Endocrinologist also said I’m Type 2 going into remission!
Reduced to one tablet of Metformin from tomorrow...
Mine was 46 (6.4%) last 12 Dec 2017.
I was told it was a pre-diabetic range.
Huge drop from 85 (13%) on diagnosis last Sept 2017!
Next one is end of Jan 2018.
I have dropped in and out of here over the last four years as there is good advice to be had across the forums. Reason why I am posting is that the penny finally dropped for me that getting rid of excess WEIGHT is the magic bullet.
Briefly, I was diagnosed with Pre-diabetes way back in 2003...
Hi everyone,
I have had type one diabetes for 5 years now, I'm 21 years old and just struggling to control my diabetes. Since I got diagnosed I haven't ever really been on top of it my HBA1C is 109, my 'normal' sugars are usually in the 20's. I wake up to them being like 25, but if I inject...
Hi. I am a type 2 diabetics. My HbA1c is 9.5. Before the test, I had been taking medications (Glynase, Metformin, Galvus) and also injecting Long Acting Insulin (Glaritus) in about 20 units every night. But when the test come out that my HbA1c is 9.5, i don't know what to do anymore. How much...
Hi guys,
So for around 6 months now I’ve been so ill as soon as I get rid of an illness I get another one which has caused my blood sugars to be high in the past few months! I’ve also had to have a couple of weeks where I couldn’t take my insulin as it was making me vomit and I had to wait for...
Been offered a trial of the freestyle libre from the hospital yesterday, just curious if anyone had tried it?
My hba1c is too high and was wondering if anyone had found if it helped with sugar control?
Thanks
I am writing to see if anyone else has had an issue similar to mine and because it is driving me crazy! I apologize in advance for the long post.
I am a 22 year old female of average height and weight (about 5'3" and 120 lbs). I am young and have never been overweight so when I was told last...
