Early start so no breakfast (except coffee)
Coming home around 2pm had the rest of the h/m trail mix I’d left in the car yesterday.
D- slow cooked pheasant, just the legs, I tend to pan fry the breast. Steamed celeriac and cavolo nero followed by cheese ( Yarg and chilli&garlic cheese which I’ll put on your cheese thread @Antje77 it’ll knock your socks off if you like a chilli kick) just to finish the glass of red.
Pheasant was a gift from a neighbour who works gun dogs, he gives us a brace every year. They were hanging up in the garage on Sunday when no 1 daughter went in there in the dark to fetch a bottle of wine. She head butted them and had the fright of her life. Obviously the rest of us thought it hilarious, but I’m not sure she’ll forgive us any time soon.

Definitely like a chilli kick, and both garlic and chilli are additions to cheese that can work out quite well, so please add to the cheese thread!
I've just found out importing cheese to the EU is illegal, and I find it highly funny this means I'm a smuggler. :hilarious:

Evening meal will be the same as yesterday: mixed veggies with pork belly pieces and a fried egg. Will repeat the lazy way of cooking the meat too, worked remarkably well and I feel lazy today. Or maybe just busy working on my 'Sinterklaas surprise', and not wanting to spend time in the cold kitchen.

Love the new plates! I forgot to mention it before. The never ending roadworks are so frustrating aren’t they?

ended up throwing the last couple of spoonfuls away which I hate to do.
I almost used the last couple of spoonfuls to add flavour to tonight's sausages. After all there's nothing in there that wouldn't cook or heat through . But as I has already used chorizo I thought adding the hummus might be a step too far, tonight at least.
Watch this space for more experiments.
Plus it would be easy to make half or quarter original recioe

Roadworks seems to be a theme today.

Had to take hubby to the dentist this morning. Trouble was the dentist is on the high street, BUT, the high street is dug up as it's being revamped. Obviously the high street was blocked off to traffic :banghead:

Hubby can't walk further than 10 steps, so there was nothing for it but to seek help. Such was my desperation I parked the car on double yellows while I ran into the dentist for help. Long story short, we ended up having VIP treatment with our car parked behind traffic cones right outside the dentist. We were rather glad to get back home though.

Arrived back home where we had our late 'breakfast' around 2pm, 2 rashers of back bacon, 2 eggs, and half doz plum cherry tomatoes.

2 creamy mugs of cocoa, frothed.

Dinner was hm vegetable soup, accompanied by cream and a crispy cheese chaffle. Just discovered that if you sprinkle a bit of grated cheese on the waffle iron plate after spraying it with oil and before the mixture is spread, then sprinkle a bit of grated cheese on top of the spread mixture, the lid is then closed and the waffle cooked, you get a crispy waffle. Sometimes I get the urge to eat something with a crunch, think this trick will help at such times.

Had several hm keto shortbread biscuits with a G&T.

had to go for winner for you beating the roadworks and getting traffic cones moved for you ! our road works mean a long diversion to cross over River at another point as town bridge is one way only so we can't use the town bridge for 18 months! Your food also sounds good crispy cheese waffles definitely deserve a winner

Works very well with omelettes as well, just sprinkle the cheese in the pan and let it fry for a bit before adding the egg!

Edited browned NOT brownies!

Skipped breakfast
Double dance class. Times have changed so out earlier for 2 back to back classes. Home around 12 so straight to lunch.
2 poached eggs on 2 slices livlife toast. I really like poached eggs but only on something ( I hate runny yolk on a plate!). And livlife is proving ideal. HiLo is a bit smaller and thicker so doesn't holds much egg. (Not that I'm fussy :angelic: )
Pud was a single small scoop of Morrisons cafe latte ice cream. Remarkably low on nasties its about 8g carbs per small scoop. It had been out of stock last few times I'd tried but this time I got 3 tubs. Happy days.
A quick trip to local camping centre for welly socks got me a brilliant coat and just the right fleece in the sale! A very good day indeed.

D: about a third of a chorizo fried then 8 chipolatas browned in same pan. Added half a sweetheart cabbage and let it cook until soft (added the odd splash of water to stop sticking). Shared it with hubby.
Also shared a lc chocolate mug cake.

Our boy has finally moved out so adjusting to cooking for 2 not 3

Morning all Didn't have the shepherds pie yesterday so I'm having it today. I cooked the swede and added the cream and cheese and ate the lot, it was so good! But the carb content was quite high....9g carbs per 100g swede so will have to be more careful. Doesn't sound a lot but if you are trying to keep below 30g carbs per day, it upskittles the plans! Art class this morning and Good Companions club this afternoon. We get £10 Christmas present and a free Christmas lunch with Good Companions! During the year we have coach trips and we get them half price. We are really lucky. Have a good day folks even tho it is really cold. :)

Hi All
So back to Monday…
Brekkie was my usual slice LC toast, cooled with thick butter, copious tea.
Lunch was small selection of cheeses from the farm shop with side salad.
Supper was cheese & tomato omelette.
Yesterday same brekkie.
Lunch bits of cheese with some shredded ham.
Supper was snap with @Rachox 8 tiny meatballs in a little h/m tom & chilli sauce with a little swede & carrot mash from frozen, found in the bowels of the freezer and useful until I can replenish my supply of frozen cauli rice.
Today same brekkie.
Lunch will be out with an elderly friend, tricky menu, so might be bowl of soup or quiche & salad.
Supper will be lightly spiced chicken breast with broccoli & cauli cheese.

Brunch: leftovers stir-fry with brussels sprouts, asparagus stems, cauliflower, lardons, diced beef and bean sprouts in olive oil, butter and a splash of cider vinegar. I may need a small plain Greek yoghurt before dinner. Or I may not.

Dinner will start with a small amount of mixed nuts - walnuts, one Brazil, fresh hazelnuts from the woods, then will be beef stew (husband's special recipe - I'm being pampered/he's cooking dinner). He will be adding carrot, turnip, swede and onion to his portion, possibly some pearl barley, while mine will be just beef, spices and some sliced spring onions, with vegetable stock or Bovril, butter, and a garlic clove. There will be sprouts and cauliflower.
