What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Will catch up on everyone’s posts for the last couple of days later, but for now will just post my own.
Very tired after drive back from Brum, what a really great couple of days - it was like meeting up with old friends.

B: Weatherspoons eggs benedict with mushrooms instead of muffin and coffee with milk as no cream ( havent had milk for yonks, don’t miss it)

L: Tried to pick the most low carb aspects of the lunch - salad leaves, tuna, boiled egg

MAS on drive home, a pack of 3 Hotel Chocolat 85% batons ( thanks for pointing them out @Goonergal- they were a lifesaver as I was getting v stressed in the traffic getting out of Brum)

D: Chicken and cauli cheese that daughter had left in the fridge from their lunch.
Pleased you got back safe it was hectic in brum thought traffic would be heavy good job you had the chocolate tip from @Goonergal

Oh joy! I still remember the performance getting from the Five Ways Roundabout at Edgebaston (where our office was) down onto the Aston Expressway then right across 3 lanes in rush hour. Didn't matter how often I did it - it was always , indicator on, deep breath and hope for the best with the foot carefully positioned near the break and the accelerator!
Spaghetti never bothered me but that move onto the expressway was something else.
The only other place I found a total nightmare was the Magic Roundabout in Swindon. There was nothing magic about it.

Get this done while I cool off as I've had a busy morning and I'm still not 100%.
Bed last night 3.8 - yes 3.8. Steady rise overnight and I check in this morning at 5.8. Trouble is it has gone on rising and hit 9 2 before going down. Obviously too busy for it.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing
D. Will certainly have a campari and soda and a wee prosecco (or two).
Feeding of the Five thousand! Cold starter. Selection of Italian meats, mozzarella, tomato, prawns and Marie Rose, smoked salmon , fresh anchovies.
Main is Rick Stein's beef stroganoff with celeriac fries for me (straw chips for the rest). Dessert I have the IP Keto creme brulee made again and a Keto sticky toffee pudding. Both look pretty normal. I'll stick to the creme brulee today as I don't know if my body will react to sticky toffee even if it is keto. Helps that I'm not keen on it anyway.
Ah well , having already made the 2 desserts while hubby set the table going to have a quick Hoover, make the Marie rose , sort out the starter before getting the boys for swimming. I'm organised though because everyone is appearing once I get back from swimming. Hope this is the end of this bug!

Love your new T shirt!
Think I’ll change my avatar now too - although mine makes me look a bit like Superman without the external pants.

Don’t think I’d ever attempt it again without some high quality chocolate to hand.
(Makes mental note never to drive to Swindon)

Hi all, going to post now while I have some internet access
Today has been absolutely glorious and most of it was spent sat on the beach, bliss
B coffee with cream fried egg, grilled bacon, mushrooms and hi lo toast
Late morning 2 small cappuccinos the second of which was accompanied by a gluten free chocolate brownie ;) didn’t seem to have a major impact BG rose by .4
On way back to the car I had a small Cornish vanilla ice cream in a tub no wafer
D will be naked burgers with salad and some halloumi fries, glass or 2 of red and the last 2 squares of chocolate
Back on the wagon with both hands firmly on the reins tomorrow, this weekend has been the first time I have allowed myself to be so relaxed and not completely carb controlled, it has been ok, but for the first time in 10 months my tummy feels slightly bloated and a teeny weeny bit uncomfortable, more proof, not that I need it, that low carb is right for me.
6 weeks now until my holiday so another reason for making sure my wagon is on the smoothest path :)

Hi all. After a cloudy start a lovely sunny day in Birmingham.

Brunch - 2 fried eggs and bacon followed by 15g almonds.

Dinner - the lure if Five Guys so close to the hotel proved irresistible. Bunless bacon cheeseburger with lettuce tomato onion and mayonnaise followed up by 15g almonds and 3 Hotel Chocolat 85% batons.

Feet now firmly up as I managed to cover over 37k steps today.

Evening all. Everyone seems to have had sunshine today which is great - thought the summer was over.

B: poached egg, smoked salmon and avocado. Coffee and cream

L: Salmon fillet, prawns, the other 1/2 avocado and mayo. Followed by a caramel CarbKiller bar. @Rachox I found some in Boots today! This bar just had 1.4 net carbs but I was still quite nervous anout trying it after the PHD bar shock. No problem though I’m happy to report. Quite expensive at £2.50 each so I’ll look out for them on special offer.

MAS couldn’t resist an apple off my tree, they looked so shiny and juicy I just had to have one. I should change my forum name to Eve. 100g is 10g carbs according to Carbs n Cals app - a lot for a snack but I dont regret it. Put me into 7s but less of a spike than I expected.

D: roast lamb with cauli cheese, buttery garlicky cabbage and halloumi chips. Still no celeriac to be had here.
Finished with a low carb Jaffa cake. Thanks for the recipe @maglil55 and cheers @Rachox if you are having your usual this evening.

@jayney27 your weekend sounds like it’s been fab, glad the weather stayed good for you. We all need to let our hair down now and again.

@Goonergal 37,000 steps? Crikey!

Do they have a loyalty scheme GG?

Some very film star like avatars from the Brum Calendar girls. Lovely weather here today which helped with the rest of the day. Also, good sermon and hymns which again offset the rest of the day. 11 men should be charged with taking money under false pretences for claiming to be professional footballers and a piece of beef charged with bringing meat into disrepute. Menu below:
Breakfast: Reheated coffee with almond milk; 2 pints tea when Mrs P arose later
Mid morning snack: Small piece white bread and sip of wine ( the most useful thing all day)
Lunch: 3 chorizo and cheddar rollitos which needed using up; CCB - same as rollitos; (dead carbs society); water
Afternoon snack: Coffee with inulin, almond milk and a little creeam
Evening meal : Beef ???; roast cauliflower, mushrooms and tomatoes; dogs may enjoy the beef this week

Hi not sure if the offer applies to all Holland and Barrett’s but this weekend I found carb killer bars and phd smart bars buy 1 get one half price. Not quite as good a deal as my local Tesco, £2 each for phd but might be worth checking out @DJC3
Today has been perfect spent the day chilling on the beach and have topped up the tan nicely, can quite safely assume next weekend will not see a repeat, I’m Manchester bound :arghh:

Hello all.

Glad to hear that everyone had a grand time in Birmingham. Here's to all of you.

Had a sunny day here in Germany too. Spent one and half hours outside getting some vit D.

Woke up to 5.1 and wanted to see what happens if I fasted. Blood sugars went up to 5.5 at two hours and back to 4.9 at 4 hours. So no breakfast.

Lunch: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol. A slice of carrot-zucchini cake (there is still about one-quarter of the cake left, will definitely try a smaller version next time.) A Wiener sausage, a piece of cheddar and a Greek yoghurt.

Dinner: Fried bellpepper and zucchini in cream with tomato and bellpepper paste, lupine hummus and pan-seared calamari. Romana lettuce with a homemade low-carb mustard-honey dressing.

Looking forward to the Sunday-night feature movie. Alas, no popcorn to go with it.

Sounds like a good sunny day was had by all - @Goonergal youve probably crashed by now with that number of steps and your very very early train back to London in the am - hope it’s an easy journey.
@DJC3 im very tempted by thought of an Apple I do miss them. I also got out in sunshine - garden a bit neglected as busy last week or so but lots of raspberries and my purple tomatoes are ripening. Froze more raspberries for the colder months ahead! Will be picking for next couple of weeks I think. Tomatoes not too sweet so hoping they won’t have impact!
Breakfast one Waitrose 1 sausage, slice bacon, egg and one fried purple tomato!
Lunch one tin mackerel with olive oil and four LC seeded crispbreads
Dinner chicken and salad with small glass of red followed by raspberry clafoutis and yoghurt.
What a lovely weekend shame it’s monday tomorrow! Think need to start looking at booking a holiday!

@jayney27 Thanks for the Carb Killer bar tips - I’ll take a look in H&B
@shelley262 the apple was worth it. Garden ones aren’t a sweet as the imported shop ones I don’t think so maybe not such an impact on bgs.
Not sure what to do with all the tomatoes though - there are tons.
I forgot to add that Ive done my Tripadvisor review for Fri night!
