Seriously bad up here. Started with sunshine and blue sky but boy did that change. Had to pick up SIL and hubby from the airport and it was so wild I had to go through town as the bypass was too exposed. Interesting drive avoiding trees, branches and flying debris. While stuck in traffic I checked on their flight and it was on approach 30 mins early (obviously caught one heck of a tail wind). Fought my way to the airport and even with the disabled badge I couldn't get parked. Was going to go in the multi storey but that's a minimum charge of £20 even if you're only in 5 mins. Was desperately trying SIL mobile leaving messages, texting.....never thought to recheck the flight! Pilot had a go at landing, didn't fancy it , aborted and diverted to Manchester. So they were in Manchester waiting to refuel for the pilot to have another go. About 20 on the plane didn t fancy it and got off having been told it was up to them to get home. I informed SIL winds were slowly dropping so by the time pilot got back should be better. Meantime I paid £10 for The privilege of doing circuits around the airport! Did the bypass going back, couldn't see for the spray but at least I didn't have to hang onto the car. 3 hrs later they eventually got back to Edinburgh and felt kissing the ground would be an idea when they got off!

Good heavens what a nightmare! What was your bg after all that stress?

Bed 5.2 FBG 5.4. Well you already know most of my entertaining day. Weird in the morning. Blue sky, sunshine alternating with gales and torrential rain. I was soaked coming back from the school run. Then came the airport run.....back to pick up the boys from school (soaked again) then eventually get a meal when SIL and hubby got back from the Manchester adventure. Daft thing is they are back to Manchester tomorrow as they fly back to Australia on Friday morning. They couldn't stay there as half their luggagecwas still here. So I ended up with an OMAD day.

B & L Nothing
D. Stew made in the IP with carrot, onion, button mushrooms, peas and celeriac mash.
Last of the Chia Pudding and 6 raspberries.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

The Callebaut buttons are just 5.5g carbs per 100g. They are small so 15 buttons weighs about 10g
The only problem is the fact they come in a 2.5 Kg bag! I have tried hiding them in an awkward cupboard but they have magically repositioned themselves right at the front - so easy to just have a few when you’re passing.

Edit to correct weight
Oooo, I'll definately get some now, 2.5kg seems a bit small though :D

For anyone vaguely interested; In the latest Tesco freebie magazine, at the front is £1.50 off voucher for Breyer's ice cream. It's not for me, but them I'm probably just not normal (for Norfolk, or anywhere else).

I predict a run on Tesco magazines. ;)
Thanks for that. I didn't notice that and I only lifted it tonight on the way back home.

I love a curry, make one at least once per week. Coconut cream is a brilliant way of making cauli rice taste great!
I take cauli rice with me if we go to our local Thai and they happily cook it for me To have. I keep meaning to ask how they stir fry it as it is brilliant.

Morning all. Wow, this thread moves fast! Absolutely exhausted yesterday - ended up in bed by 7.30 - so no time for the forum.

@ziggy_w and @DJC3 thanks for the good wishes. Work looks set to be crazy for the next few weeks. And good luck with the blood tests Ziggy.

@maglil55 sounds like a horrendous journey. Has been a bit windy here, but nothing like that.

@ianpspurs the reference to Sheringham doesn’t conjure up such pleasant images for me. It did remind me of a leaving present from one job when a thoughtful colleague with no football knowledge did internet research and made up a framed Arsenal songsheet. Hilariously she assumed that the special song about Sheringham with words that can’t be used on here was some kind of ironic expression of endearment!

Anyway to get on topic, yesterday’s exhaustion was coupled with extreme hunger.

Breakfast - 4 Coop chorizo and Gouda rollitos and 2 boiled eggs

Lunch - M&S Serrano ham and manchego cheese rollitos and a bag of pork crackling followed by a few squares of Montezuma’s Absolute Black with orange and cocoa nibs.

Dinner - ribeye steak with garlic butter followed by an enormous portion (well it was several smaller ones) of clotted cream and almond butter.

The like is for the ribeye and mention of Edward S. Sympathy re work - it still makes me guffaw when people ask if I miss work. Also, whilst I may be a tea drinking legend you sure cane those rollitos. Have to say the M and S ones with diabolo? were a smash hit with the P family but the Coop would be a step too far for me.

Work can be blamed for that too. M&S a 15 minute round trip so enough to stretch legs a bit when no time for a longer walk and rollitos an easy eat while getting on with work!

Coop would be a step too far for me.

I love the Coop - its the only convenience store/ supermarket in this village so its just as well.
I judge places on their avocados and have to say the Coop’s are always spot on, never had a black, bruised one or a rock hard one.
Asda on the other hand! Won’t go in there now unless I’m desperate.

Does anyone know if you can make and cook fat head pizza dough in advance?

We’re going round to eldest grandaughter’s birthday tea this evening ( pizza) so I’m doing the fat head one for me and my daughter. It would be easier if I made the base here and cooked it for the initiall 10 mins then just finished it off round there - her oven will be full of everyone else’s pizzas so don’t want to get in the way too much.

Put off forever by 3 separate cases of milk going off within 24 hrs despite long date. Not to mention loony prices

Ah fair enough - that’d put me off too. Must be down to individual store managers I guess. They obviously weren’t monitoring the chillers properly - or leaving too long before putting in there.

Afternoon from a drenched Yorkshire! Even the chickens in the field opposite look fed up :chicken:

Got to agree with @Goonergal, those rollitos are something else. Ran out yesterday so in a panic went and bought three more packs today (3 for £7)!!! Try dipping them in your tea @ianpspurs, you could start a new trend.....

Early eats today as weather so bad

Breakfast - Hi-lo toast and butter
Lunch - Rollitos:wideyed:, pate, five sourdough crackers (10 carbs), salad and olives. Strawberries and extra thick cream with pumpkin and sunflower seeds
Dinner - Home made tomato soup (thanks Tom Kerridge) and h/m flaxseed roll with more butter
Snacks - TBA but will probably feature a l/c ginger biscuit somewhere along the line.

Trying to factor more fat into my diet. Who ever thought that become a positive thing to say:happy:

Lost access for a while - probably blown away. September not going to plan but numbers on fake news meter seem ok so on we go. Different menu to the one planned but was fine.

Wakey Wakey + Breakfast : No idea how much tea but finally gave in and got up well before 5.30 so lots
Mid morning: Coffee with inulin and some cream
Lunch : None - waylaid with a relative until 3.30
Mid Afternoon: Tea; meaty bone; CCB - hmm should throw but Mrs P put in so much work and lots of Callebaut still left
Evening meal : Mackerel and avocado salad with usual dressing and chia seeds
@Tori71 Tea should never have anything dipped in it and rollitos are for canapes but apart from that your idea is a winner:angelic:

Very windy and wet here too, still not cold though.

B: scrambled eggs and smoked salmon

L: 2 cold rashers of bacon with cream cheese on top - weird but I needed something quick and easy,
1 low carb coconut oil brownie ( Carolyn Ketchum recipe) 20g almonds a bit later.

D: Grandaughter’s birthday tea -I took fat head pizza bases round, as she had asked for a pizza party. mine was topped with sour cream ( don’t like tomato paste) salami, mushrooms, jalapenos and mozzarella. The birthday girl wanted chocolate cake with strawberries so thats what she had - I had another of my chocolate brownies with strawberries so I could still join in.
Home now, glass of red and a proper fire, bliss

Yes, you can! Apparently it freezes well too.
