What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Very frustrating. I have replaced the batteries and now have a slight cold but readings are more normal Thanks.

Wonderful that changing the batteries made a difference. Tbh, it was difficult to make head or tails of these readings.

Keeping my fingers crossed that you'll get over your cold soon.

Going back to my barmaid days , Pink Gin was indeed with angostura bitters. The way I was taught was to put a little of the bitters in the glass , swirl it around and tip the excess out. Then add the gin. Going back a bit mind.

That’s exactly the way I was taught. Tended to be drunk by elderly naval gents.

Oooooh. Confession time. Got home today after a week in a hotel and wife had done lasagne. Part leek part pasta to suit both as it keeps her carbs lower.
We worked it out to around 25g of carbs per slice (as such as you can slice lasagne, size maybe 2 1/2 to 3" square) Heh. I scoffed 2 helping thank you after the hotel junk.
That's prob 50 to 60g of carbs and even with an hours walk I was still 7 (4.4 pre) . Whoops. I can generally stay under 6.

Totally worth it though.

Lol. It's an obvious bump on mysugr.

7 seems pretty good if you’d had 50-60g carbs. Definitely worth it!

Just realised I am way behind. Been dipping in and out but I finally succumbed to Hubbys lurgy despite him banishing himself to another bedroom. Now we're both coughing. He's been in the house all week - I've had to keep going.
Wednesday - still felt OK. Bed 5.9 FBG 6.2
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. 2 scrambled eggs with a rasher of crispy streaky bacon through it. Slice of Tesco high protein bread with toasted with Lurpack.
D. Cooked the giant chicken yesterday so warmed up a chicken breast and had it with stir fried broccoli rice and creamy mushrooms.
Scoop of Halo Top and raspberries.
Thursday.
Bed 6.3 FBG 6.1. First niggling signs of the lurgy appearing. Slight sore throat and not my most energetic aqua Zumba session although the hot steamy pool helped.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream. Couple of GF pork chipolatos, 2 rashers of crispy streaky bacon and the last duck egg.
L. Had to go to get food for the boys dinner and decided a small lunch was required as I'd be later eating. Small spoonfuls of the M&S bits - Honduran marinated prawns, tuna with red onion and beans, whipped cream cheese and anchovies.
D. Another bit chicken and peas - not very hungry. Remains of the halo top (Not even a scoop) and raspberries.
Friday - bed 6.6 FBG 5.9 sore throat still not great but I have the boys from lunchtime so it's a case of dose up on paracetamol. BGs just sitting a little higher than normal.
B. On the theory of feed a cold..2 GF pork chipolatos, 3 rashers crispy streaky bacon, 4 mini tomatoes, GF black pudding, fried egg and a mushroom. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. After picking up boys and feeding them on the move it was straight to Lego Club at the library and while No 1 focused on building projects No 2 Sat with me in the kiddy corner and we read books so he could decide what books to check out. No 1 meantime built an impressive moonbase with moving parts which is now on display. This was filled by taking No 2 home with books and off to swimming With No 1. Pool was empty but hot and steamy again.
Hairdresser was coming as well so I had a late spoonful of the M&S bits again - Honduran marinated prawns, tuna with red onion and beans, anchovies and whipped cream cheese.
D. Much later after a very much needed haircut a lo dough pizza.
No halo top left so had a few each of raspberries, blackberries and blueberries with cream.
Cold developing now so more paracetamol.

I had a look at No 1s front tooth at the swimming. It's been getting very wobbly and I told him it was ready to go as it was hanging by a thread. Got a video call later to show a proud , toothless grin and a tooth. He was the last in his class to lose a tooth so big event for the first tooth coming out.

The other thing the older gents were fond of was a Whisky Mac - a blended whisky with Crabbies Green Ginger. Don't know if that was peculiar to Scotland.

No, nor just to elderly gents - I loved it, almost looked forward to having my first cold of the winter as it gave me an excuse to have one!

MrB will sometimes have one of those in the evening. (We don't use the O word in our house. :) )

Breakfast: 0% Fat Greek Yogurt, half a mug of mixed berries, handful of mixed nuts. Lunch: 1 small avocado with 2 poached eggs

Evening all. Girls were awake very early today, so excited to open their advent calendars and eat chocolate before breakfast. We all had an early breaffast then which means all my other meals had to be shifted forward to keep to the 8 hr eating window.

Breakfast: scrambled egg and smoked salmon

Lunch: Leftover cold chipolata with mayo and dijon mustard. Then a CCB

Dinner: Kobi Keema ( dry mince and cabbage curry) adapted for IP and served with DD Englush muffins - nothing at all like English muffins but made a reasonable naan substitute.
Raspberry mousse made with SF jelly, cream and 4 raspberries.
Got a glass of red on the go now.
Have a good evening- all our decs are up, tree is adorned and it’s ‘beginning to look a lot like Christmas’

Haha! Love that jumper!
My two seem to have something against jumpers.
They only need to wear them after they’ve been clipped short AND the weather turns chilly, but oooh, the pathos. The drama!
I have no idea how people get their dogs to get dressed up. Mine just don’t react well...

Today
No B
L of oomi noodles and chorizo
D will be sausages and homemade halloumi chips

Was going to be chicken curry, but saving that for tomorrow

We started our advent calendars today too. Mr B had a choc/orange protein blob the size of a marble in his (he doesn’t eat choc) and mine was a fennel herb tea bag (yuck).
So not off to a good start!
We decided to swap. :D And both enjoyed the results.

Cooper is incredibly tolerant of being adorned in various doggy clothes thankfully as my sons partner enjoys seeing him wear them! He does look cute though and very festive.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: salmon with fried eggs and hollandaise sauce followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: raspberry chia pudding and black coffee.
Dinner: gammon steak, half grilled tomato, fried egg and side salad followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola. Oh then I’d made LC lemon shortbread biscuits to go in the freezer for Xmas, this afternoon, the two scruffy ones from the ends of the roll of cookie dough didn’t quite make it to the freezer! ;)

I see. Thanks. Read it wrong, as I thought angostura was one of the ingredients
