What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thursday 16 February bed 8.2 FBG 8.6. Thank you, youngest! Woke up with aching limbs, sore eyes, headache and sore throat. Not feeling great at all.

B. TAG and a piece of crustless quiche

L. Lots of water and paracetamol.

D. Spoonful of prawn cocktail and smashed avocado. Mug of tomato soup and yet more water and paracetamol. Did not feel very hungry.

DIL has gone down with a bug too.

@shelley262 really great figures. Wonderful stuff.

Hot shower, Vicks and PJs calling. I have to shift this bug.

Morning taken up feeding boys and trying to convince youngest that a cupcake was not an acceptable breakfast. Nor was a raspberry Magnum.
and dealing with a croup cough youngest had developed. Great!
I think a raspberry magnum is a brilliant breakfast when dealing with a horrible cough!
(Provided you're not a low carbing diabetic that is, I wouldn't try it myself.)

Had a quick and not too satisfying instant ramen without the noodles and with added snow peas, two boiled eggs, arugola and a couple of garlic shrimps.
I wanted the shrimp flavoured packs of flavouring but found out I only had duck flavour in the cupboard, pretty disappointing.
Greek yoghurt for dessert.

3 fresh laid eggs scrambled for breakfast. 1 slice hm lc soda bread
Grey but pleasant dog walk on the beach.
Few shopping errands this afternoon (parked hubby at the local musuem but it didn't hold him long enough)
D: 3 slices of cheeses crisps with a teaspoon chutney. Chicken leg with mushrooms and bacon, broccoli carrots . 1 glass brandy

Not when you gave a youngster that is only hungry for ice cream/chocolate/cakes/fizzy drinks etc. I insist that he eats some decent food first. Treats are for later.

His brother is totally different. Drinks lots of iced water, hates fizzy drinks, eats fruit and quite an array of veg and does have the occasional sweet but he's mostly a lover of mints.

Tuesday 14 February bed 7 FBG 7.8. Took son and DIL to the train station then came back with the boys to get organised to go swimming. Also, I froze my membership again to cover the upcoming operation.

B. TAG and a slice of SRSLY toast with coronation chicken.

L. Nothing at swimming with boys.

D. CC little chocolate pot. Too busy making meals for boys, stories, and getting them to bed. Wasn't hungry by the end of it.

Wednesday 15 February - bed bed 6.8 FBG 7. Morning taken up feeding boys and trying to convince youngest that a cupcake was not an acceptable breakfast. Nor was a raspberry Magnum.

B. Eventually, TAG and a bit crustless quiche

L. Nothing. Busy restoring order and dealing with a croup cough youngest had developed. Great!

D. Got son and DIL late afternoon with fractious and bickering children in the car and got them home.
4 GF chipolatas, fried egg and 2 bits of wee black pudding. DGF Christmas pudding with raspberries and a dash of cream.
Em had a salted caramel Magnum for breakfast on Wednesday morning. That was a first breakfast, she followed it with breakfast 2 of a buttered crumpet and a cup of tea. Not the healthiest, but sometimes, a little of what you fancy... It seemed the right thing at the time.

Breakfast (shortly): mushroom omelette. I don't see how muchrooms can be causing a problem - there is nothing in the way of fibre in them, so I'll try again.

Later will be fish - either salmon or smoked mackerel. Oily fish, whichever I choose. Maybe both since I shan't be having any vegetables to bulk it out bit.

Morning all. Confession time again. I didn't have the casserole yesterday. I went shopping and took my friend with me and we had a full English each in Tesco cafe. I felt really guilty too. As I hadn't intended to have it, I didn't test first so I took note of my bedtime reading 5.9 (up a bit) and this mornings was also 5.9. So not too much damage done hopefully. So it's casserole today with cauli and broccoli. My normal piece of cheese for tea. Have a good day everyone.

10ish kefir with my supplements then headed out for day long hike with picnic - Fitbit reports a 8.6 mile walk- picnic was two boiled eggs with salt and pepper followed by nuts two squares of 100% chocolate and flask of coffee with cream
5ish salmon, cauliflower cheese and glass of dry white wine followed by LC chocolate brownie warmed and served with yoghurt

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and DGF caramel slice.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a phd bar.
Dinner: coronation chicken and leafy salad in DGF herb and garlic wraps followed by my last DGF Xmas pudds. :(4D218913-0DCB-4F45-8E37-3BC99CAFF0E7.jpeg

Not been feeling quite right today, some abdominal pain and nausea for no apparent reason. Seem to have a migraine too.

Fasted until about 2 when I had 2 soft boiled eggs.
7 pm a chicken and chorizo stew, just a small portion.

Not sure if eating is making me feel better or worse!

Fbg this morning is 6.4 .....Yesterday food was ...Breakfast 2 fried eggs ,mushrooms 2 slices of grilled bacon 2 wholemeal rolls ( overdid the carbs a bit 50 roughly ) .

Morning all. Had my cwc and today am having the last of the beef casserole. Tomorrow I'm going for a carvery again. Really enjoyed it last week. Have made some lc jellies and am enjoying one a day with cream. Life is looking up! @shelley262, do you make your own Kefir? And if so, how? Have a great weekend everyone
It's very simple to make kefir however you need kefir grains which you can purchase for a few pounds -,then you just keep culturing on with organic full fat fresh milk. Trouble is the grains are very very prolific and need to be fed frequently with fresh not uht milk unlike yoghurt which can be cultured with long life milk - although you can slow things down in fridge. See:
Just do a search on organic live kefir grains to buy the grains.
Lots of great podcasts and guides too from an American kefir advocate Donna Schwenk

Could I suggest a few things first
Try out some good quality live kefir to see if you like the taste first
also do make sure it's got the live bacteria in it. I like the Waitrose gut health one or the collective company easier to find may be the biotiful organic on. I personally don't have a big rise with live kefir or yoghurt but some people do so don't invest until you've checked it suits you!
Talk to local friends to see if they fancy splitting the resulting product and or grains as they grow as they produce a lot especially if living mainly on own.
