What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Evening all

Today:

B: Two eggs scrambled in butter with a generous dollop of double cream, sautéed chestnut mushrooms and home-grown tomatoes, all seasoned with a good grinding of black pepper.
Water to swallow tablet.
Espresso.

L: Aperitif: dry white wine.
Baked whole sea bass, belly stuffed with sprigs of thyme and garlic, drizzled with olive oil.
A medley of baked broccoli, leeks, onions, garlic and sweet red peppers topped with a knob of butter.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.
Four squares, Montezuma's Absolute Black 100% cocoa chocolate.

D: Salad made with anchovy fillets, eggs, avocado, lettuce, Padrón chillies, salad onions, lemon verbena and a touch of lemon juice, with a dollop of home-made aioli for dipping, topped with pecan halves.

No kids around so able to have a couple of leisurely late BBQs just taking time (eating my type of food) and eventually watching the darkness fall and solar lights come on one by one. Peace and quiet, what a rare event.

B:- Cheese omelette with a cold sausage left over from previous noisy BBQ.
L:- Black coffee and a bowl of watermelon
D;- Greekish Salad (red peppers, red onion, carrots, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and radish) with chunk of fetta and dollop hummus , whole shrimps skewer on BBQ, Haloumi grilled on same with a skewer of chopped lamb to finish off. Not a burger or chips in sight.

A couple of glasses chardonnay and prosecco to cleanse the palate (possible slightly more but my only treat ;) )

I have noticed though that the BS results are on the up, I am blaming it on drinks as opposed to food so tee-total for a while to compare.

Lovely birthday meal today but didn't go to Nandos as planned. It's next to cinema and clearly lots of families were eating before a screening so it was busy and noisy. We decided to give nearby Cote a try and very pleased we did good food and also quieter!
We went for the two course fixed price deal I ordered a charcuterie board starter and steak main and my OH ordered steak with frittes and a pudding of cheese plate. Our plan - which worked really well was to share the starter and the cheese. Photo of cheese I'd split into two pieces before remembering to take a photo. OH had the bread with his share. We also treated ourselves to a glass of muscadet.

What a great looking Birthday meal @shelley262
Today I had 2 scrambled eggs and 1/2 avocado for breakfast.
Lunch was a tuna melt muffin with salad.
Dinner, another tried and tested DietDoctor recipe (keto garlic mushroom chicken thighs) with broccoli. Glass of chilled white wine.
I’ve been a DD member for many years @LivingLightly I don’t look at the full website that much these days but I still pay and consider it a charitable donation as it helped me so much in the early days. IMG_1722885943.948327.jpg

That garlic chicken is on my meal plan for next week! Chicken, mushrooms and garlic three of my favourites

Rather than giving up your once-a-week Chardonnay @ChrisT2, you might want to consider dropping the watermelon which has a high sugar content and substituting berries like raspberries, blackberries or blackcurrants all of which are more diabetic friendly.

Btw, this year, there's a bumper crop of wild blackberries to be foraged for free.

That cheese selection looks mouthwatering @shelley262. Once again, many happy returns!
