What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hearty breakfast at Weatherspoon’s: poached eggs, bacon, mushrooms and halloumi. Lots of coffee.
No need for lunch after that.
Hospital appointment went well - still cancer free so celebrated with an early evening meal at Carluccio’s: olives to start, then chicken saltimbocca and broccoli with pine nuts. 1 glass Malbec. Later on we shared a bottle of champagne.
A good day!

and a big hug too for your good news

Weatherspoons breakfast before travelling home. 2 poached eggs and 2 big mushrooms with extra butter. Coffee ( lots! I love their refillable cups)
Lunch on the train was nuts I’d picked up in M&S: nuts, rollitos and a cheese portion.
Dinner at home was the leftover M&S bits: Mexican chicken, more nuts and cheese, an old avocado I’d left in the fridge and sauerkraut. Cup of tea with milk begged from neighbour.

Breakfast: Home made greek style yoghurt with a few raspberries
Lunch: Tuna mayo salad
Dinner: Planning to have pork chops with green beans, cauliflower and roasted celeriac
Snacks: Couple of squares of Lindt Excellence 90% Cocoa Chocoloate
Another fan of Lindt Excellence 90% Cocoa Chocolate. I'll also go for their 85%. If only they would do a high-cocoa low-sugar version of their Lindor.

Brunch was a seafood platter of prawns, peppered mackerel and smoked salmon with avocado and a very thin ( 15g) crust if a sourdough loaf with lots of butter. Didn’t have too bad an effect on BG
Later dinner of takeaway curry from a new place. My normal order of lamb tikka and saag paneer didn’t go too well, the saag paneer tasted sweet and sure enough gave a BG spike even though I’d tried picking the paneer out. Won’t be using this place again. Shared celebratory bottle of champagne with family.

Breakfast was Greek yoghurt ( 10% fat) with M&S grain free granola.
Lunch was chicken pie with cabbage and broccoli and one tiny roast carrot. My pastry was fat head dough ( top crust only) the filling was mushrooms, few leeeks and garlic sauteed in butter, a big dollop of cream cheese added and some double cream, then cooked chicken chunks. It’d work well as a meal on its own.
Supper was cheese, walnuts and a glass of red.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and another carb killa bar.
FIL isn’t well so no Sunday tea there this week, cream cheese and cucumber on LC bread at home followed by Crimbo crumble from DGF with Greek yoghurt.

I had the carvery yesterday. pork, carrots, roast parsnips, creamed leeks 1 small roast potato, mashed swede, a teaspoon apple sauce and a little gravy. For tea I had a fried mushroom sandwich in 2 small slices wholemeal bread. I'm gradually cutting out bread, but I couldn't go cold turkey.

Last two days had family guests so mainly ate food I'd cooked to eat cold -buffet style. I made wide range of salads including home made coleslaw and potato salad, hummus, and large cheese board plus cooked a large ham and two chickens to eat cold. Daughter in law also made sour dough focaccia and puddings for carb eaters. I tried a nibble of the focaccia to taste - delicious but managed to not eat any more. Also had a small amount of the hm potato salad ( probably due to a mix of the hm olive oil mayo and cooking and cooling of salad potato plus keeping to a very small portion , I do seem able to eat it without a massive rise - not the same with bread products though unfortunately) no sweet stuff for me - kept away from temptations by eating lots of cheese and celery!
Today back to mainly normal fare
Breakfast kefir then one poached egg on low carb toast
Lunch made several pots of mackerel pate mid morning blending a tin of mackerel fillets in olive oil with some lemon and lime juice ( usually use just lemon but also had some fresh limes left from weekend) dollop of cream cheese and seasonings of pinch of following: sumac, chilli, pepper and celery salt. Had one pot with low carb melba toast, celery and spring onion for lunch. One left in fridge for tomorrow.
