Ingredients
To make Apple Butter, you'll need:
  • 5 lb apples = (try Pippin Granny Smith or Macintosh)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 cups unsweetened apple cider
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Method

  • Peel core and thinly slice apples
  • Put the apples water orange juice and apple cider in a saucepan and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes
  • Remove from heat and puree the apple and liquid in a food processor or blender until the mixture is fairly smooth.
