Ingredients
To make Cheesy Grits, you'll need:
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup quick grits
  • 3/4 cup shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp reduced-fat margarine
  • 2 tbsp chopped green chiles or picante sauce
  • 1 egg separated
  • 1/4 cup skim milk nonstick cooking spray

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Bring water to boil in heavy sauce pan
  • Stir in grits
  • Return to boil then reduce heat partially cover and cook for 5 minutes
  • Stir occasionally.
