To make Easiest Three-Cheese Fondue, you'll need:
  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • 1/4 cup finely-chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup reduced-fat (2%) milk
  • 2 cups shredded mild or sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
  • 1 package cream cheese - (3 oz) cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese - (2 oz)
  • 1/8 tsp ground red pepper
  • 4 drops hot pepper sauce - (to
  • 6) Breadsticks and assorted fresh vegetables for dipping

Method

  • Heat margarine in small saucepan over medium heat until melted
  • Add onion and garlic; cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes or until tender
  • Stir in flour; cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly
  • Stir milk into saucepan; bring to a boil
  • Boil, stirring constantly, about 1 minute or until thickened
  • Reduce heat to low; add cheeses, stirring until melted
  • Stir in red pepper and pepper sauce
  • Pour fondue into serving dish
  • Serve with dippers.
