Ingredients
To make Ham Barley And Almond Bake, you'll need:
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 tbsp margarine or butter
  • 1 cup uncooked barley
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 bunch green onions sliced
  • 2 celery ribs sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 lb lean smoked ham cubed
  • 2 tsp dried basil leaves
  • 1 tsp dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tsp freshly-ground black pepper
  • 2 cans reduced-sodium beef broth - (14 oz ea)
  • 1/2 lb fresh green beans cut
  • 1" pieces

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Spray 13- by 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray
  • Spread almonds in single layer on baking sheet
  • Bake 5 minutes or until golden brown stirring frequently.
