To make Pan Fried Sprouts with Nutmeg, you'll need:
  • 600g Brussels sprouts 
  • 40g butter 
  • Salt and pepper to season 
  • ¼ tsp. freshly grated or ground nutmeg 

Method

  • Slice the sprouts in half, and parboil them in boiling water for 4 minutes. 
  • Parboiling refers to the technique of adding food items to boiling water and cooking them until they begin to soften, then removing them before they are fully cooked.
  • Heat the butter in a wok over a high heat, add the sprouts and stir-fry for 4 minutes.
  • Season, sprinkle with nutmeg, and serve!
