To make Speedy Spaghetti With Sausage, you'll need:
  • 12 oz whole-wheat spaghetti
  • 8 oz hot Italian turkey sausage
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 can crushed or puréed tomatoes - (28 oz) undrained
  • 1 can no-salt-added stewed tomatoes (14
  • 1/2 oz) undrain
  • 1 tsp dried basil leaves
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 large zucchini or yellow squash - (or
  • 2 med) cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Method

  • Cook spaghetti according to package directions omitting salt
  • Drain and set aside.
