Bariatric Surgery for T2's - Gastric Bypass

Hi, I've been away for a while - but I'd really love to hear peoples thoughts on treating/improving T2D with Gastric Bypass Surgery. I know it seems pretty severe, but I have done a LOT of research on this, and the improvements are often drastic. Would anyone here consider it?

    Victosa & Lantus when LOW???

Hey y'all, I'm injecting Victosa & Lantus. Seems to be working quite well. I've found that splitting it (morning and evening) works really well. BUT - some mornings I'm waking with LOW BG (3.8/4.0mmol/L). So my question is - should I still be dosing up with Victosa & Lantus when I wake? I...

    Any Lo-Carbers using Lantus?

I've started on Lantus. This is in combination with the Victoza that I've been on for 3 months, which, at 1.2mg once daily, was doing nothing. Last night, I took my first Lantus, at the same time (18:00) as my usual 1.2mg of Victoza. I was told to start on 10units of Lantus, but, in my haste...

Blood Glucose - Diffrence between CONSUMED sugar, and glucose generated by your own Kidneys...

Anyone know anything about the differences? For instance - how effective is injected insulin at reducing BG that are elevated due to Glucogenesis? I've got a pretty stressful job, and I wonder if elevated levels of cortisol are leading to hi-BG?

    C-Peptide Results are in

I got a C-Peptide test - the results are: C-Peptide: 18.52 C-Peptide/Creatin Ratio: 2.98 So that tells me that I AM making insulin. (T2). BUT - I have very high Trigs (17.5!!!), so they're putting me on Insulin to get my Trigs down (starting on Lemevir, and then including Novorapid post...

    Interesting post on Yahoo! Answers...

So - for me, the *First and *Second points back up the theory that diabetics should consume extra water. But the *Third point has got me thinking - how do we replace these electrolytes/ions??? It DID remind me of "The Water Cure" (drinking water w/grey sea salt). Perhaps the grey sea salt CAN...

    Diabetes & Hydration

So - there's no denying that drinking plenty of water is a great way to aid in your battle with diabetes (I presume?)... So - is there any reason not to try other types of hydration? I'm thinking specifically of stuff like Dioralyte. Could this be helpful? I have read that T2 Diabetes is...
