What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hi all.

More restrained day today with an unplanned 23/1 fast - meeting venue changed so planned lunch no longer available. Easier to fast. Dinner was 2 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausages, 2 rashers bacon and a birds eye burger followed by lazy dessert of extra thick double cream mixed with almond butter and Hotel Chocolat 100% buttons.

@shelley262 your puppy is adorable.

Hi all I’ve joined the poorly high bg club today! Woke up with painful ear and dizziness think I may have picked up minor infection from swimming or something. Have been treating my ear with warm olive oil all day but will need to call dr tomorrow if no better. Inclined to let it sort itself if possible. Affected bgs and my hearing ......but not my appetite!
Breakfast one slice bacon, egg and mushroom
Lunch advocado and smoked salmon salad
Afternoon tea low carb lemon drizzle cake
Dinner chicken and green salad followed by 2 strawberries with small scoop of oppo ice cream and blob cream
Coffee and maybe a treat bit of choc later.

Hi, feeling much better today, did attempt to go back to work but only managed half day, however feeling much better now.
Breakfast ham and cheese
Lunch was a small salad with mayo and a slice of fat head pizza from yesterday
Snack was a cappuccino and Adonis bar, highest amount of carbs in one go but needed comfort food
Dinner was salmon poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, jelly and cream

@shelley262 i hope you feel better soon, I’ve been poorly since coming home from my holiday, I think are bodies relax and make us more susceptible :hungover:

Back to real food today (good job, cos the lamb needed cooking)

2pm boned lamb shoulder, pressure cooked in the Cauldron.
7pm chicken curry, home made with cream, cashews, coconut and even some lentils. Most of the lentils went to Mr B.

Am stuffed.

Virus launched a sneaky rearguard action in the small hours, with fever and an astonishingly dramatic sore throat, but have felt better and better as day progressed. The chocolate munchies have disappeared as if they never existed.

Good evening folks. Another sunny day in not quite paradise but a very pleasant part of the world.

B: 2X pint mugs Tea with homemade almond milk:
MMS: Travel mug coffee with double cream
L: 2 X pint mug Assam tea with homemade almond milk
MAS: By 3.30 I was ravenous and not very happy to be up to 5.2. Ate ½ my 80p jarlsberg; 3 slices chicken breast; 1 slice salami; some bite size beef chunks; 2 slices parma ham; 1 rasher cooked bacon ( Can anyone guess I like meat?) Well, I needed to clear the cooked meat up as we are going away for 2 to 3 days; 2 pints tea 1 with double cream 1 with hm almond milk
D: Ribeye steak to test sous vide; avocado salad ( Mixed leaves; cherry tomatoes; radish; cucumber); mushrooms; cider vinegar and olive oil dressing Sous vide a big success

Or maybe it’s aeroplane travel all that circulated air and bugs!

Glad you are feeling better, I’m almost back to normal too

Or maybe it’s aeroplane travel all that circulated air and bugs!

I am pretty sure I picked my bug up last Thursday in a 2 hr meeting with 30 other people. Door and windows shut.
I bet we have all been dropping like flies. Fun fun fun.

The irony is that Mr B recently had the same bloomin’ bug for 3 weeks while I didn’t pick it up.
When one of us is ill, we use pretty basic ‘protocols’ at home, and v rarely swap bugs.
- the sick person doesn’t step into the kitchen, except to put their own cutlery and crockery into the dishwasher.
- the healthy person preps all food and drink including using kettle.
- regular disintectant wipes of bathroom fittings and door handle.

So simple.

@jayney27 and @Brunneria glad to hear you are both on the mend, but @shelley262 it’s a shame you are not feeling well. At least it didn’t hit you while you were away.

Felt a bit more controlled today as normal routine resumed.
B: Coconut porridge with 2 sliced strawberries and a spoonful of cream. Coffee and cream.

L: Cold roast chicken, asparagus and avocado with a big dollop of homemade mayo. Sugar free jelly and cream

D: massive pork chop, cauli cheese and buttered cabbage. PhD bar, caramel crunch this time. I should save them for emergencies but couldn’t resist trying another flavour.

Drank a lot of fresh mint tea, am totally hooked on this now, it’s perfect for these summery days, It’s so much nicer than the tea bags.

Hello all! 24 hour fast today so only one meal this evening.

D: Sweet gem lettuce 'wraps' filled with brie, Mattessons sausage, chicken chunks and mayonnaise.
Quest bar and Cadbury's Highlights with cream for 'dessert'!

Oopsie almost forgot to post!
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream (2 tsp) washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cold roast chicken with cauliflower and broccoli with Caesar dressing followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: no added sugar squash in the car, stuck in London’s biggest car park this afternoon, otherwise known as the M25! :banghead::banghead::banghead:
Dinner: lamb burger on one slice of HiLo with salad followed by chocolate and hazelnut Oppo and strawberries.

Can anyone remind me how many carbs in the chocolate olive oil cake please? Is it 10 portions?

Off to visit 2 of my daughters and grandchildren in Cornwall tomorrow and thought I’d take this with me.

Hi @DJC3 my work out is 18g per cake I use 50g of 100% choc melted rather than cocoa may affect slightly depending on which cocoa powder you use if that’s what you use. I use 200g of erythritol and a few drops of stevia.
So depends how much you cut it up re g per slice if 10 it’s 1.8 per slice. Enjoy baking and your trip away. I’m feeling really yuk today so off to drs in a few mins with my poorly ear.

Thanks Shelley. Now I’vegot the Copy Me That App I won’t forget.

So sorry to hear you are not feeling better, ear infections are miserable ( if that’s what it turns out to be) but hopefully you’ll get some antibiotics and start to perk up soon. Fingers crossed for you.

Missed yesterday. Bed Monday 6.4 FBG 5.8. I too have fallen victim to the lurgy. First warning was the BGs moving up and down, raw throat and achy limbs.
B. A pack of Tesco's egg omelette ham and egg wrap. Lovely thin omelette. Only lacked seasoning which is easy enough to add. 6g carbs in the pack. Hope they do more as it is great to get something off the shelf.
L. Black tea
D. 4 chicken drumsticks, lettuce , tomatoes, coleslaw, smoked cheese.
Throat raw BGs 8.6 so I ate just under 1/2 tub Halo Top and 4 squares Lindt 90% but still felt miserable. At least it didn't make BGs any worse.
Today - Wednesday Bed 8.4 FBG 7.2. Dragged myself to aqua and the steam helped but now I want a nap.
B. 1/2 Mattesons chicken smoked sausage and 2 scrambled eggs. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Chicken drumstick
D. Prawns and smoked salmon with lettuce, 1/2 avocado, tomatoes, mozzarella pearls, 2 Walnuts.
No temptation with Halo Top - I've run out.
Hope everyone else is improving. Cough came on pretty quick.

Don’t know the answer to the question sorry, however, wanted to say have a wonderful time in Cornwall, one of my favourite parts of the country and not far from my home, Devon.
