What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast: smoked haddock poached in milk. It is really good, real smoked haddock rather than the yellow dyed stuff from the supermarket.

2nd meal will be some more of the chicken curry.
Made a fish pie with some of the fish I bought on Thursday - mixture of haddock, smoked haddock and salmon with spring onions, peas, hard boiled eggs and cream. I also put 6 slices of frozen potato on top with some knobs of butter. Not sure how that will work out as a topping. It's just finishing off in the oven now. I may have put a little too much cream in, by the looks of it. There are 2 helpings there so it will be fish pie tomorrow and Monday.

Also did the remaining haddock, cut into rather large goujons, coated in coconut flour and egg and fried in butter. I'll freeze them for another day.

B usual small kefir followed by high percentage pork sausages low carb as no fillers served in a roll -using one of the new low carb rolls from Keto Chef very bread like but I was a bit overfaced by size of roll and couldn't eat it all!

L hm low carb veggie soup followed by some berries and yoghurt
D chicken curry with LC roti and a glass of gin and soda then had a couple of squares of 90% chocolate with decaffeinated coffee.

1st breakfast : 1 hard boiled egg
10:30 second breakfast. Met friends at a Wetherspoons (their choice). Every main option was csrb heavy so I went for scrambled eggs on toast with extra bacon. Worst eggs ever! Dry, tasteless. Bacon burnt and dry.

14:30 cheese and sauerkraut and pickled cabbage. 2 gingerbread hearts

18:30 cheese, seedy crackers, sauerkraut and pickled cabbage. 2 cherry tomatoes. Strawberries.
1 bite of a Lidl special mine pie. It wasn't worth it!
1 glass of red before off to a 60s concert

Evening all. @DJC3 congratulations to your daughter. @Antje77 hug for the car @JenniferM55 are you Cambridgeshire born and bred? @MrsA2 I hope the 60s night improves the day.

That looks delicious fish, beautiful! Not born and bred in Cambs I'm afraid, only been living in The Fens for just over 2 years.

@Antje77 hope tomorrow is better in every way.
Black coffee took me up to brunch of scrambled eggs on toasted SRSLY seedy bread.
Mid aft - tea with milk and a frozen DGF cookie
Expected this evening to be just Paul and I with a bottle of wine, dinner on a tray and strictly on TV, but we ended up with 8 for dinner so I had to do some rapid scaling up and several lb of roast potatoes. Slow roast belly pork, shredded sprouts with pancetta and cauli cheese. Id also made a meatloaf intended for our lunch tomorrow, that got eaten too. No photo it was all a bit hectic.

Brunch: cheesy scrambled egg with 4 rashers of crispy streaky bacon, water to drink
Dinner (supper): an avocado with salt, pepper and 3 drops of Worcester Sauce in each half (blimey, the carbs in WS are scary!), 2 - Wholegrain Ryvitas spread thickly with butter, Philadelphia and sliced cherry tomatoes.
The Ryvitas were an experiment to see if I could tolerate the carbs. Yup, my Libre and my CodeFree meter only recorded a 2 point rise which dropped with 40 minutes - yay!

EDIT: I paid the price the following morning with feet on the floor reading of 7.0 after being below 7 for several days.

Had the end off a newly baked sourdough loaf. the slice was spread with butter. So sorry I did that, but maybe I shouldn't be as I think it's cured me venturing into the evil world of grains. BG shot up to 9.9 after nearly 2 hours, it remained high for quite a while. Luckily prior to tea time BG had normalised to 5.7. It's a voyage of discovery, and I was stretching my luck.

After the bread had a coffee with added cream

Gin and tonic

Dinner was the remains of the roast chicken, with cauliflower cheese, and coleslaw.

May have 2 squares of 90% Lindt chocolate later.

Coffee at home this morning, fed overnight guests then went out to meet friends for more coffee, I had peppermint tea, too much coffee even for me. Observed the 2 min silence in the cafe.
Paul then did all his Christmas shopping in about 45mins in Fatface, Lush and Hotel Chocolat. I’m doing something wrong here.
No 3 daughter came round for lunch this aft: Chicken thighs in creamy garlic, mushroom and parmesan sauce with cavolo nero.
Couple of glasses of wine.
Evening snack of almonds and toasted shredded coconut.

B small kefir then two boiled eggs
L hm veggie soup plus tried my first slice of keto chef sliced low carb sandwich bread - I separated the slices with a bit of kitchen towel cut into small squares before freezing so could just toast a slice at a time straight from freezer. @ianpspurs thanks again for the recommend this low carb bread is probably the most bread like version I've tried and only 0.6g per slice. Then pudding of a few berries and yoghurt plus two squares of 90% chocolate.

D steak and roast med veggies - onion, courgette, peppers and a few tomatoes with glass of red wine then LC Bakewell with cream

@shelley262 I feel a whole lot better now you have tasted the KC food and approved. @DJC3 45 mins? actually setting foot in a shop is above and beyond. Fatface/Crew Clothing/click and collect at Waitrose for John Lewis - same day on Christmas Eve here, order before 10.00 am - excellent online offerings including wrapping service. :D
Food today:
Usual tea
2 x babybel for tablets around 10.00 am
13.00 hrs to 17.00 Sunday lunch here with #3 son and partner plus 93.8 y,o MIL
CWC , Prawns and avocado; Sharing meal for 2: turkey, beef, pork (loin or leg - I'd swerve that another time), pig in blanket, 1 small roast potato, tiny piece from the centre of one of those stupidly big cardboard Yorkshire puddings - how do people happily eat that?, swede puree, red cabbage, kale, cheesey leeks, 1 glass of red., cheese board but with celery, nuts (they remembered me) and frozen grapes - I had two and gave the others away. Another coffee. Leisurely four hour meal no rush. I drove home as I didn't have the Irish (of course it is) coffee this time, I had that before - the swordfish is excellent- easily a double in there and JKP drove.
