    Some updates to share

After around two years of good glycemic control, today my father's insulin resistance seems to have improved to a new level. He is 82 this year. Today for the first time his two hours post meal reading (after eating 30g of carb) showed 5.8. I immediately took another reading and it showed 6.1...

    Low blood glucose and dizziness

A friend of mine told me her blood glucose was 4.something at times and that is why she felt dizzy. She said a doctor measure and told her to take more carb although she was T2. I am quite sceptical that she feel dizzy because of her bg since I know she still eat carb food and is probably...

    Sago balls

I just found out that this raw material may be much better to make dimsum wrappings compare to other flour. It should have much lower glycemic index and significant resistant starch.

Experts that do not know what they are talking about

https://www.asiaone.com/lifestyle/keto-and-paleo-diets-what-they-leave-out-might-just-be-what-you-need-and-you-may-gain After reading the above article, I think the experts only know theories. They have no practical experience on low carb diet and especially the benefits on diabetes.

Taking bg readings at 2.5 hour mark

I remember reading Jennie Brand Millers saying the bg of a diabetes peaks later than a normal person. Does that make sense to measure at 2.5 hours mark instead?

No one regulate bogus diabetes products?

I come across the above product advertisement in fb. I think it is unethical to make such claims to diabetic patients like using it will lower bg to normal range by using it a few days. There is another company marketing grapeseed extract with before and after pics with a glucometer showing...

    Lesser carb, lesser insulin: consequences

Many of us including myself have successfully controlled bg levels by carb restriction. I want to discuss if low carbs, lesser insulin can cause body to be less nourished given that insulin is an important anabolic hormone that drive many nutrients into our cells.
