To make Diabetic Savory Hash, you'll need:
  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup green pepper finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp chili powder or to taste
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 cups tomatoes diced
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice

Method

  • Combine the ground beef celery onion and green pepper in a nonstick skillet
  • Cook until the meat is just browned
  • Drain the accumulated fat
  • Add the tomatoes cooked rice chili powder and salt and pepper to taste
  • Cover and simmer over low heat for about 45 minutes adding water occasionally to keep meat from sticking to skillet.
