Diabetes UK had a great year

Diabetes UK, the foremost British diabetes charity, have had an action packed 2007 with a wide variety of activities, partnerships and forward movement towards aiding the nation’s diabetic population.

The Annual Professional Conference (APC) was a great success, with over 3,000 healthcare professionals coming together in Glasgow to learn about fresh developments in diabetes.

Corporate Partnerships this year have included Specsavers Opticians and United Co-Operatives, both of whom have been vital in raising funds to aid diabetics . The Director of Partnerships at the charity reportedly said: "We would like to say a big thank you to all our partners for their hard work and generosity."

Diabetes UK have also funded lots of research in 2007, with the Director of Research, Iain Frame, reportedly commenting: "We funded £6.5 million of research in 2007 and plan to spend even more next year to improve the quality of life of people living with diabetes. Our ultimate aim is to one day find a cure for the condition."
