An agreement between the directorate of health services and Novo Nordisk will see a new campaign of diabetes diagnosis, control and prevention in Goa.
Approved by cabinet, the process will reportedly change diabetes parameters in Goa. The goal of the project will be to curtail diabetes in the state. Novo Nordisk voluntarily approach the government, whose only role is to provide space in Goa medical project.
The company will collect a variety of diabetes data from hospitals and doctors, and then implement a three-stage program to educate people about diabetes. The company will also analyse the data to draw conclusions about the diabetes scenario in Goa.
India is a global diabetes hotspot, particularly affected by type 2 diabetes in the last decade.
