Local Portsmouth hero Paul Farrelly has arrived back in his home town after completing an incredibly cycle journey. Over the course of 30 days, Paul cycled across Europen, across 11 different countries over 2,000 miles!
Paul, who has type 1 diabetes, completed the race as part of the Bayer Diabetes Care European Cycle Challenge. Paul left Portsmouth in early May, following a punishing training regime. Last Tuesday, thousands of miles later, Paul cycled into Istanbul on the final leg of his journey.
Paul, who won the Bayer Diabetes Care Dreamfund, wanted to complete the race to show that living with diabetes does not have to hold anyone back. Paul also raised funds for diabetes charity Diabetes UK .
