When I look back over Christmas and think to myself whether I was able to keep my sugar levels in check as well as I hoped.

If I’m honest, I would have to say that the sugar levels weren’t as good as I might have hoped. I wouldn’t say I went crazy at any point and did well to avoid mid-meal pecking but my blood glucose levels were higher than I would have liked.

In fairness, Christmas introduces more variables than just a change to your diet – meals may be taken at unusual times, alcohol consumption may be more frequent than usual, you may not get to see what ingredients and how much of them are going into each dish and one may need to make longer journeys.

All in all though, my blood glucose levels weren’t terrible and I had a very enjoyable Christmas so I shouldn’t complain.
