According to a variety of reports in the diabetic and wider news this morning, film star and celebrity Angelina Jolie is suspected of suffering from gestational diabetes . Gestational Diabetes (GD) is a relatively common ailment amongst pregnant women, and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes development.
At this point, the rumours are unsubstantiated, and Angelina Jolie, who is the partner of film star Brad Pitt, has so far not commented on the reports. A source, widely quoted in the media, was reported as saying: “She has gestational diabetes. She found out about a month ago. She’s been seeing a nutritionist about it frequently.”
Gestational Diabetes can usually be brought under control with diet and exercise, and it is a curable disease. Jolie is thought to be bearing twins.
