Diabetes reports from America indicate that a total new diabetes program has now been launched by the University of California Diabetes Teaching centre.
The online diabetes self-management resource program could help people with diabetes to better understand and manage their condition. Against a backdrop of growing diabetes levels, diabetes education has become particularly important.
According to American Diabetic Associatio, some 23 million people in America have diabetes, whilst almost 60 million have pre-diabetes . The level of healthcare needed is impossible to meet for the 4,000 trained diabetes physicians.
Known as Diabetes Education Online (DEO), the program aims to increase understanding of the condition. The website is currently available only in Englsh:
