According to reports from health experts, the government of Uganda must step up their efforts to fight diabetes . Rising deaths due to diabetes mean that the Uganda Diabetes Association have their work cut out in fighting the condition.
In Uganda, according to diabetes officials, the disease is the leading cause of heart attacks, kidney failure, stroke and blindness .
Professor Andre Otim was reported as commenting: “Diabetes is an increasing health problem.” Otim pointed to the need for more diabetes experts throughout clinics in the country.
Diabetes is a major problem in the developing world, as well as the developed world.
