Diabetes UK, the leading UK diabetes charity, have won a prize worth £150,000 in a Charity Challenge created by Everyclick.com.
Everyclick is an innovative way of generating funds for charities, and the Charity Challenge was entered by some 550 from around the country. Everyclick.com is a search engine that donates money to charity every time someone searches.
The prize for winning the challenge is a major national outdoor advertising campaign at over 1,500 sites throughout the UK. Each charity that entered was judged on how much they raised per supporter, and the clever ways in which they encouraged visitors to use the search engine.
Website manager at Diabetes UK, Graeme Manuel, was reported as commenting: “This is a huge achievement and we’re delighted to have won the challenge. It’s thanks to the efforts of the whole charity, our volunteers, supporters and other contacts. Special mention must go to Amanda Neylon for being the driving force behind this win for Diabetes UK.”
