Dr. Victor Gault of the University of Ulster has been awarded with the Rising Star Award from the European Association for the Study of Diabetes . The award has been presented for fresh and innovative research in the field of diabetes .
Dr. Gault has also been awarded a Diabetes UK Young Investigator and a University of Ulster Distinguished Research Fellowship. The Rising Star award is in recognition of his great contribution to diabetes research in Europe.
Dr. Gault reportedly commented: “While it is a great personal honour for men, the Rising Star award also recognizes the quality of diabetes research at Ulster. Diabetes is often described as the epidemic of the 21st century and our research is helping unravel complex underlying mechanisms in order to establish new treatment strategies.”
