Dr. Kusum Abrew, a Professor of Pharmacology attached to the Medical Faculty of Colombo University, concerned about the influence of the disease on vital organs. Diabetes complications include visual impairness, diabetic neuropathy, and coronary disease.
Meanwhile, Dr. Pujitha Wickramasinghe, reportedly commented: “You could prevent this disease by maintaining the weight of the body in preparation to your height, curtailing consumption of sugar and oily food and engaging in proper exercise and avoiding stress. Grain-food, vegetables, fruit and food containing fibre should be essentially included in the meals.”
