Halle Berry has made it public that she is a proud fan of the keto diet by frequently sharing a cookbook filled with ketogenic meals to her social media followers.

Berry, celebrated for her standout performances in films like Die Another Day and X-Men, frequently highlights recipes from Maria Emmerich’s Quick & Easy Ketogenic Cooking: Meal Plans and Time Saving Paleo Recipes to Inspire Health and Shed Weight cookbook to her 8.5 million Instagram followers.

Halle said: “The keto diet has changed my life. I have this book. I go here on a regular basis—daily in fact — and this is where I get all my recipes.”

What is the keto diet?

The ketogenic diet, also known as keto, is a low-carb, high-fat dietary regimen that differs from other low-carb diets due to its specific macronutrient ratios.

It typically involves consuming 70-75% of calories from fats, 20% from proteins, and only 5-10% from carbohydrates. This typically works out at less than 30g of carbs a day.

This differs from a typical low carb diet which aims for 130g of carbs a day. The goal of the keto diet is to shift the body’s metabolism to burn fat for energy, rather than carbohydrates – or ketosis.

Recipes that have made it on to Halle’s Instagram story include zucchini chips, tuna salad wraps and arctic char with olive salsa.

According to the A-lister, the very low carb cookbook also includes dairy-free, egg-free and nut-free meal options.

Author Maria is “over the moon excited” to hear Halle publicly sharing her love for her cookbook.

She said to her Instagram followers: “My deepest gratitude goes out to supporters like you as well as Halle for spreading the word of my books.”
