Abbott Diabetes Care - Freestyle Lite
Product:
Freestyle Lite
Manufacturer:

The Abott Diabetes Care Freestyle Lite is a stylish, discreet blood glucose meter that helps people with diabetes to manage their condition.

Abbott’s updated FreeStyle Lite blood test meter is an easy-to-use machine with no coding required. It’s one of the meters that gets called a micro meter or a mini meter.

It’s teeny-tiny, it neatly fits into the palm of the hand of even a child. Its screen is not commensurately small and gives quite large format figures. Another aspect of its easy-to-use ethos is that fact that it’s fast (just 5 seconds to give you your test result) and only needs a tiny blood sample, which allows you to test with shallowest depth setting on your lancing device. It’s also fine to use with alternative site testing.

Design features include the hole you put the test strip in is helpfully signposted with a dash of yellow so it’s easy to get the strip into the right place, furthermore a rubber surface means the FreeStyle Lite is also literally easy to get to grips with.

No coding

With no coding required, diabetics can use the FreeStyle Lite test strip to get a fast, accurate blood glucose result. The Freestyle Lite test strip is compatible with both the FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Freedom Lite meter.

Freestyle Lite Features

The Abott Diabetes Care Freestlye Lite includes larger numbers, making the display easier to read. Larger buttons make the meter easier to read, and rubber grips make it easier to hold. As well as returning a blood glucose result, the Freestyle Lite can return 7, 14 and 30-day averages with storage for 400 test results.

Comment from Diabetes Expert

I can see how this meter attracts a wide user base due to its size, simplicity and no-coding facility.  It’s small, simple yet does anything you need from a blood-testing machine. Batteries can be ordered from the Abbott customer care team, or can be found in any camera shop and your average supermarket or Boots should have them too.

I have a Freestyle Lite. Newly upgraded from the Freestyle Mini. Very good meters, the mini needs coding and the lite doesn't. Would I recommend the lite? YES Small and neat,in a good case, with a very clear screen. Fast, reputedly accurate, needs smallest blood drop. pin head size ( and not the glass headed pins either) Comes with Abbott Diabetes Care's brilliant lifetime service. Superb package. Probably has loads of features I never need. can download to computer, but I don't. Instant 7; or 14; or 30 day average. Hana

I have the Freestyle lite. It is excellent. Reliable, fast and uses the tiniest of blood drops. It and Abbott's wonderful service make life more straightforward. All I need now is for my PCT to allow strips on prescription.
