Schneider Hospital in the Virgin Islands is providing a free series of classes on diabetes and nutrition to aid diabetics in gaining a fuller understanding of planning meals and how diet and nutrition impacts upon their illness.
Diabetics need to watch their diet: how much they eat, what and when can dramatically impact on their blood sugar levels.
The classes cover a particular area of diabetes and nutrition.
The most recent class covered diabetic meal planning, dietary and nutritional information about foods which contain carbohydrates and the significance of abiding to a diabetic diet.
