According to a new government report, parents could be killing their children with kindness by failing to fight the obesity crisis and allowing kids to eat unhealthy food and lead an indolent lifestyle .
A set of adverts will be released warning of heart disease and diabetes risks due to their parents’ actions. According to official figures, one in four children are overweight when they start school.
The aim of the campaign is to educate and inform parents without issuing orders or wagging the finger. The campaign reportedly features three young children who claim: “One of us will die of heart disease or diabetes when we’re older because of the foods our parents let us eat now.”
The overweight and obesity crisis is feeding the rate of diabetes development in the UK.
