Diabetes UK, the leading UK diabetes charity, are helping to raise awareness of health amongst the Somali population by holding a family diabetes awareness day in Northampton.
The charity is working in conjunction with the Somali Health Awareness Foundatio, and the awareness day will feature 50 parents and 20 children. Diabetes UK are partially funding the event, and are taking the opportunity to launch new diabetes leaflets in Somali.
The purpose of the day is to increase diabetic information amongst the Somali community, and linking lifestyle and diabetes, and how food and exercise influences diabetes.
