Diabetes sufferers in the Milton Keynes area will now be offered a dedicated website by healthcare providers. A new online space for Milton Keynes Hospital will provide one-stop diabetes information for local people who suffer from the condition.
The aim will be to provide comfort for any diabetics worried about having the condition, who have been recently diagnosed, or are already living with diabetes . The service will guide local people towards local healthcare services.
To work out which information to use, local patient groups advised the project development team. The key issues include weight management and diabetes complications .
NHS Milton Keynes chief executive Dr. Hicks reportedly commented: “For the first time in Milton Keynes, people with diabetes have a reliable, clinically-assessed resource to provide support and advice on their condition that they can access whenever they need it.”
