The Medical device specialist Medtronic Inc. said that it will hire 1,400 new jobs over the course of the next five years to staff a brand new diabetes education and therapy center.
The company will begin the recruitment process at once, as part of its insulin pump and diabetes monitoring devices unit. The management and education facility is being opened with grants and incentives from local government in San Antonio and Texas. The center is expected to generate over $750 million in economic benefits.
The company will provide grants of $50,000 each to Social and Health Research Center and CentroMed to fund programs that will help lower diabetes risk factors, whilst boosting education levels about the disease .
Medtronic have thousands of employees all over the world, and are becoming one of the most recognised brands in diabetes care .
