Diabetes company Novartis has launched a new campaign to help educate patients to become more involved in managing their type 2 diabetes . The campaign, released ahead of World Diabetes Day on November 14th, is an attempt to prove patient education.
By becoming more aware of symptoms and treatments that lower adverse side effects, Novartis hope to encourage patients to better achieve outcomes. The campaign will include patient education initiatives organised by Novartis alongside patient advocacy groups and healthcare providers.
Dr. Nathwani, the Global Head of the Cardiovascular and Metabolism Development Franchise at Novartis Pharma AG was reported as commenting: “Novartis is committed to delivering programs that support patients in improving their overall health outcomes. Through educating patients to be more aware of the difference between symptoms and treatment related side effects, Novartis is bringing new levels of support and partnership to patients and their healthcare providers.”
The initiative will take place with the backing of the International Diabetes Federation .
