Metabolic health pioneer Dr Sarah Hallberg has passed away from lung cancer.

Dr Hallberg touched millions of lives through her research and was known across the world for her TEDx talk on type 2 diabetes reversal.

The ground-breaking video on how the low carb and ketogenic approach can support type 2 diabetes reversal has more than 8 million views.

Dr Hallberg was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017 and was open about her health.

In 2020, Dr Hallberg published a blog in which she described what it was like to live with stage IV lung cancer despite not having smoked.

Approximately 10% to 15% of lung cancers affect non-snokers.

Members of the research and diabetes community have been paying tribute to Dr Hallberg online.
