A new manual released by the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) could help diabetics and pre-diabetics manage their disease by maintaining a healthy body weight and keeping their blood glucose levels tightly managed.
The manual is called: “Beyond the Basics: Lifestyle Choices for Diabetes Prevention and Management .” The manual includes a focus on weight management, body image, healthy snacking, healthy eating without too much cost, and travelling .
The senior manager of initiatives and strategies at the CDA, Sharon Zeiler, reportedly commented: “The goal of this manual is to promote good health and assist with diabetes prevention and management. The resource is full of information for special populations including children, where rates of Type 2 diabetes are on the rise, and tips for expectant mothers living with or at risk of diabetes.”
