200 diabetes UK supporters ran the London marathon on the weekend, completing the wearing 26-mile long course to a standing ovation .
The Flora London Marathon was made even more testing this year, due to hotter than average weather conditions. The 200 volunteers completed the course, raising over £200,000 for diabetics .
Diabetes UK staff cheered from the sidelines along the route, at the 13, 22 and 25-mile markers. Following the race, staff and volunteers attended an official Cool Down Party held in the QEII conference centre in Westminster . A buffet was put on for runners and supporters, and massage therapists soothed many a worn-out limb.
Diabetes UK went on record as saying a great thankyou to the runners, and congratulations for completing this fantastic challenge. A great day for diabetics, Diabetes UK and diabetic healthcare .
