According to recent research, people suffering from the ill effects of diabetes could get improved care, following the release of a new three-year plan. The plan will affect diabetics in New Zealand, where diabetes levels have soared in recent years.
The plan, which will improve the quality of diabetes care, was developed by the Ministry of Health, District Health Boards, clinical experts and consumers. The plan sets out ways to make health outcomes better for both diabetic patients and those with cardiovascular disease .
Sandy Dawso, the chief clinical advisor at the Ministry, was reported as commenting: “The Ministry, stakeholders and the Expert Advisory Group have worked hard on this plan, and we’re looking forward to hearing feedback from the DHBs.”
