Grapefruit obesity and diabetes influence

According to diabetes news today, grapefruit contains a substance that naturally fights fat . Researchers at the University of Western Ontario found that the substance could reduce weight gain and the presence of fatty particles in the body.
The substance, a flavonoid called naringeni, could be used to inhibit conditions that create diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. The accumulation of lipids, cholesterol and tryglycerides can be lowered by the substance. The findings were published in Diabetes .
Murray Huff of UWO Robarts Research Institute reportedly commented: “In a nutshell, it (naringenin) switches the liver away from fat calories and speeds up the metabolism of glucose . It reduces the liver’s ability to process and store fats .”
