Thermal imaging system could help diabetes diagnosis

According to a nuclear scientist, thermal imaging could have a strong role to play in the future of diabetes diagnosis . Using thermal imaging experts could study the implications of diabetes in respect to wound healing, blood flow to the limbs and other organs.
The revelation was made at the ICONN-2010 conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Baldev Raj reportedly commented: “Thermal imaging can do accurate screening in this respect and it has been proved after extensive research.”
Raj said that the future should see universities pursuing nanotechnology research in relation to diabetes, to build on current research already conducted by institutes and diabetes foundations. It is hoped that future breakthrough in this field could lead to more simple and widely available methods of diagnosing diabetes .
