According to a recent diabetes report, early treatment with diabetes drug Metformin is important for the long-term management of symptoms and the avoidance of complications . The journal Diabetes Care reported that the faster the drug Metformin is prescribed for type 2 diabetes, the longer it will remain efficient without the need to turn to other medication.
Dr. Jonathon Brown confirmed that the maximum benefit of the medication is entirely linked to duration and stages of use. As the lead author, he commented: "We believe that starting the drug early preserves the body's own ability to control blood sugar, which in turn prevents the long-term complications of diabetes like heart disease, kidney failure, and blindness."
