According to a recent diabetes report, early treatment with diabetes drug Metformin is important for the long-term management of symptoms and the avoidance of complications . The journal Diabetes Care reported that the faster the drug Metformin is prescribed for type 2 diabetes, the longer it will remain efficient without the need to turn to other medication.
Dr. Jonathon Brown confirmed that the maximum benefit of the medication is entirely linked to duration and stages of use. As the lead author, he commented: "We believe that starting the drug early preserves the body's own ability to control blood sugar, which in turn prevents the long-term complications of diabetes like heart disease, kidney failure, and blindness."
Type 2 diabetes develops when the body cannot produce enough insulin . As well as diabetes drugs, and often before the condition develops far enough to need drugs, a healthy diet and regular exercise is an essential way of reducing diabetes risk .
