Leading UK diabetes charity Diabetes UK have gone on record to say a big thankyou to all the people who helped make Diabetes Week this year a great success. Volunteers and supporters alike pledged countless hours to raising money and spreading the message about diabetes awareness .
There were a variety of events throughout the country and also throughout the world. A drive in the media led to widespread coverage raising diabetes awareness all over the UK. There were photocalls, public demonstrations, stalls and stands.
The Measure Up Roadshow continued to travel all over the country, visiting various places throughout Diabetes Week.
The chief executive of Diabetes UK, Douglas Smallwood, reportedly commented: “Congratulations and thank you for helping to make Diabetes Week such a success. I am extremely grateful to all volunteers, supporters and staff who have contributed their time and energy to help raise vital funds and strengthen our messages about the seriousness of diabetes .”
